Afumaa, one of the six finalists
Getting picked up as one of the finalists gave me the willpower to move on and take my chance. I was hopeful about everything especially of the possibility of going to Westminster.. I looked forward to be groomed to become a better person through the various tasks we were to carry out. I saw The CHALLENGE 2009 as a platform to further my education, to be exposed, meet new people and establish lifelong relationships.

Aside the various activities, trips and eviction fevers, I am quite disappointed I was not a beneficiary of the scholarship package. But I believe that it is just a comma, not a full stop in my life as said by Mr. Dei Tumi. My life has not come to an end because I did not win The CHALLENGE. No, I believe I am now content even though I did not win as compared to what I was before The CHALLENGE 2009. The program has taught me a lot in various aspects of life. I have learnt about autism through our charity work. I now have experience and training in sales. I am proud to say that through The CHALLENG 2009, I have been able to initiate and implement a socio-economic idea which impacted on the lives of an identifiable group of people in this country. Undertaking a film task under this program gave me the opportunity to tour the central and western regions of Ghana. Having gained all these experiences within three months I believe they are the finest balm for the pangs of disappointment scholarship package. Not to talk of public recognition and important personalities I came into contact with. I believe that not winning the challenge has not made me less of a person but rather it has taught me to be strong, pursue my dreams and give my best in any sector I find myself. I have reseumed my position after The CHALLENGE as a National Service Serson at the Akuapem South Municipal Assembly. I look forward to a job in a highly regarded organization where I will make use of my acquired knowledge and skills to bring changes to the organization. Whilst working I intend to upgrade myself by offering professional course relevant to my career path. Aside getting employed I will continue to exploit other prospects which will offer me the chance to pursue my postgraduate degree program.
